About us

The Department of Lifelong Learning (DFC) is an autonomous, distinct department in the structure of Transilvania University of Brasov, specialized in educational services relating to adult lifelong learning. It was set up by the decision of the Senate Board No. 28 of 11.02.2005.

DFC is subordinate to the University Senate Board. In its structure, DFC brings together teams of teachers from all faculties of the university. The Department has been working on the basis of its own regulation since April 2005, each postgraduate programme having distinct educational plans set up by the organizing departments.

DFC is part of the Tempus Association for Continuing Education (ASTEC), created by bringing together lifelong learning centres developed in the framework of the TEMPUS projects, funded by the European Training Foundation, taking the best practices of lifelong learning, promoted in the European Union.

The mission of DFC is to coordinate all the activities of continuing education, in cooperation with the university faculties, to ensure the provision of valuable training programmes both from a scientific and methodological point of view, in accordance with the requirements of educational reform.
