SELF-SPONSORED EU STUDENTS
Self-sponsored EU citizens follow the same admission procedures as Romanian citizens.
Admission for the academic year 2010/2011 at Bachelor level will take place starting with 12th of July2010, until 31st of July. A second session will be organized by each Faculty in the period 3rd – 25th of September 2010.
Admission at Bachelor level consists mainly of a competition based on highschool degrees.
Admission at Master’s level will take place between 12-17th of July and respectively 3rd-25th of September 2010, and is the result of a competition based on the academic records of the candidates.
A precondition for application is the recognition of the study certificates (high school, BA) by the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport.
The International Relation Office in our university can assist EU citizens in gettingthis recognition, by collecting and sending their files further to the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports.
Authenticated translations of the respective documents in English language:
- Photocopy or authenticated copy of the certificate of studies (High-school graduation diploma or Bachelor's Degree diploma)
- Transcript of Records for high-school studies or for university studies at graduate level
- Authenticated copy of the birth certificate
- Copy of the passport
- Copy of the Marriage certificate (if the applicant's last name changed subsequent to marriage)
- Medical certificate
- Four passport-size photographs
- Application form
After the recognition of the foreign degrees is issued by the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sportthe candidate follows the same calendar and admission conditions as Romanian citizens (including subscription at the Faculty, documents, and possible exams or file contests). 2. Enrollment Conditions
After the admission exam, the candidate can confirm his or her position by submitting the original study certificates and other required documents at the Faculty.
- Foreign citizens who want to enroll at Transilvania University of Brasov and attend courses taught in Romanian, have to be proficient in Romanian. If not, they have the possibility to enroll for the Romanian Language Preparatory Course.
- Foreign citizens who wish to study in Romanian without a preparatory year of Romanian language will have to take an examination of their language skills.
- Foreign citizens who attend courses taught in English or French have to pass an examination of language skills.
- Exception from taking the test: students that prove with certificates that they have studied Romanian for at least four years or citizens from a country whose official language is the same with the language of instruction language of instruction required by the applicant).
3. Tuition Fees
According to the Law 316/2006
, tuition
fees for EU citizens are the same as those established for Romanian citizens.
