SELF-SPONSORED NON-EU STUDENTS

  • Foreign applicants who want to enroll at Transilvania University of Brasov as self sponsored students may submit their documents directly to Transilvania University of Brasov, International Relations: 29 Bd. Eroilor, 500036 Brasov, ROMANIA
  • The deadline for applications is 15th of July.
  • Citizens from Algeria, India, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria and Pakistan will submit their application files exclusively through the Romanian diplomatic missions in the respective countries (embassies, consulates).
  • Exception to this provision make the citizens from the above countries which are already registered for studies in Romania and who wish to continue their studies at the next level. This category of students will send their application files directly to the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, International Relations Department, 28-30 G-ral Berthelot Street 010168 Bucharest, Sector 1.

 

1. Documents Required for Application - Bachelor Programmes and Master Programmes

Authenticated translations of the respective documents in English language 
  • Photocopy or authenticated copy of the certificate of studies (High-school graduation diploma or Bachelor's Degree diploma)
  • Transcript of Records for high-school studies or for university studies at graduate level
  • Authenticated copy of the birth certificate
  • Copy of the passport
  • Copy of the Marriage certificate (if the applicant's last name changed subsequent to marriage)
  • Medical certificate
  • Four passport-size photographs
  • Application form

2. Enrollment Conditions
 

  • Foreign citizens can enroll at Transilvania University of Brasov based on the Letter of Acceptance delivered by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport without having to pass an admission exam.
  • At arrival the following documents are submitted:
    • Original of the final certificate of studies
    • Authorised translation of the final certificate of studies certified by a Romanian Embassy
    • Certificate of birth (authorised translation)
    • Medical certificate
    • Passport having the specific visa for studies in Romania
  • If they want to attend courses such as sports or arts, they must prove they have the necessary skills.
  • Doctoral students need the scientific coordinator's agreement.
  • Foreign citizens who want to enroll at Transilvania University of Brasov and attend courses taught in Romanian, have to be proficient in Romanian. If not, they have the possibility to enroll for the Romanian Language Preparatory Course.
  • Foreign citizens who attend courses taught in English or French have to pass an examination of language skills.

Exception from taking the test: students that prove with certificates that they have studied Romanian for at least four years or citizens from a country whose official language is the same with the required language of instruction.

3. Admission for Romanian Ethnic Foreign Students

They have two possibilities:

3.1 They may enroll in Romanian universities and pass an admission exam just like any Romanian student, but they have to provide their foreign certificates / studies recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport if it is the case. (www.cnred.edu.ro).

3.2 They may enroll in Romanian universities without passing an admission exam (except if they have chosen to attend the courses of a sports or arts faculty; in this case they will have to prove their skills), if:
- they hold a scholarship granted by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport
- they are Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scholarship holders
- they hold a scholarship granted by international foundations or organizations
- they pay for their tuition fees (in Euro), board and lodging, like the foreign citizens

Note:
Foreign citizens of Romanian origin who enroll as non-EU citizens (paying the fees mentioned below) can benefit from a reduction of 1/3 of the tuition fees. In order to get the reduction, they must submit a request and supporting documentation (birth certificate/passport copy).
