MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1949 as the Institute of Mechanics and in 1956, and together with the Institute of Forestry, they formed the Polytechnic Institute of Brasov. In 2003, as a result of new established specializations, college changes its name to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In parallel with the development of other faculties of the institute, in the Faculty of Mechanics appeared, in response to the needs of development and modernization of industry, all the other specialties.

TECHNOLOGICAL ENGINEERING AND INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT ECONOMIC SCIENCES AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Faculty of Technological Engineering  and Industrial Management has its origin since 1949, when at the Institute of Mechanics of Brasov, were established specializations "tools, devices and equipments" and "Machine Tools". In 1953, the resulting specialization was "Manufacturing Engineering". A decade later, in 1964, it gave the name of a new specialist college, drawn from the Faculty of Mechanics and called the Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering.

 On November 14th 1920, in Cluj, the Academy of Higher Commercial and Industrial Studies was the first to start courses in the Romanian language. After an activity of two decades in Cluj, in the autumn of 1940, after the Vienna Dictate (August 30th, 1940), which split Transylvania arbitrarily, The Academy of Higher Commercial and Industrial Studies was moved to Brasov, an old and important industrial, commercial and cultural centre that promoted the national unity of the Romanian language speaking community.

CIVIL ENGINEERING LETTERS

 The Faculty of Civil Engineering was established in 1972 within Transilvania University, as part of the Faculty of Forestry, with two sections of sub-engineers with 4 years of study. There were two specialisms: Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings, and Construction Equipment. These specialisms were functional until 1993; over 800 sub-engineers graduated during all this time.
