Faculty of Technological Engineering and Industrial Management was set up in 1949 when, as part of the Institute of Mechanics of Braşov, was set up the "Tools, devices and equipment" and "Machine-tools" degree programs, by whose merger, in 1953, resulted the "Manufacturing Engineering" degree program. After the merging with the Institute of Forestry in 1956, the new name is the Polytechnic Institute of Braşov.

Faculty of Technological Engineering and Industrial Management prepares engineers specialized in the fields of Industrial EngineeringAerospace Engineering and Engineering and Management, based on modern study programs that combine theoretical aspects with practical excellence.

Faculty of Technological Engineering and Industrial Management offers undergraduate programs (4 years), master programs (2 years) and doctoral programs (in Industrial Engineering and Engineering and Management fields). All courses are devised so as to meet all educational and training requirements in accordance with the current top technology in order to be useful to the industry and business organizations based on technology transfer in Romania.

In the present there are 1265 + 34 students: 783 in undergraduate programs, 294 in Master programs, 188 in undergraduate distance learning programs and 34 PhD students. Faculty staff consists of 52 teachers. Faculty of Technological Engineering and Industrial Management has a library with more than 200.000 boks and over 40.000 journals.
