International Symposium "Forest and Sustainable Development"

Brașov, Romania 7-8 October, 2016

SCOPE

The aim of this symposium is to foster the exchange of ideas between scientists from different disciplines of forest sciences, to present the latest advances and stimulate future research on forestry and related fields. To accomplish this aim, the plenary talks and six thematic sessions will cover a diverse range of topics. We are expecting a stimulating programme with many interesting scientific presentations supplemented by a field trip in one of the most beautiful regions of Romania.

THEMATIC SESSIONS

Six thematic sessions will be organized in parallel:

Session 1: Forests and biodiversity

Session 2: Forest ecosystem management

Session 3: Forest policy, economics and contribution to green growth

Session 4: Wildlife management

Session 5: Forest engineering

Session 6: Advanced geomatics

FEES

Registration fee is 150 RON (1 EUR is about 4.50 RON). The fee includes access to the scientific sessions, welcome reception (on Thursday, October 6th), the lunch, coffee breaks and the official dinner (on Friday, October 7th). If you wish to attend to the field trip (on Saturday, October 8th) an additional fee of 50 RON will be paid. 


The fees will be paid in cash on Friday, October 7th at the registration desk.

DEADLINES

Deadline for talk/poster abstract submission: Extended to 15 July 2016.

Abstracts should not exceed 350 words and must address the following aspects: the context and purpose of the study, the main findings, a brief summary and potential implications.

Announcement of selected talks/posters: 1 September 2016.

Registration is open until 15 September 2016.
