Practical Integrated Methods for Propulsion Systems Engineering

The MSc. field which this study programme falls within is Mechanical Engineering, being taught in English. The duration of the studies is 2 years (120 ECTS credits). The M.A. study programme is interdisciplinary and inter-engineering, with emphasis on mechanical engineering. The main competences are related to: the students’ in-depth acquisition of current and future methods, techniques and technologies in terms of design and manufacture of propulsion systems, internal combustion engines in particular, as well as the student’s familiarization with current and future trends in terms of design and manufacture of propulsion systems; the acquisition and knowledge of advanced notions and terminology especially in the field of mechanical engineering, as well as of related engineering fields; the development of the necessary skills for the graduate of this M.A. study programme to approach the issue of product design and development by means of advanced methods, methodologies and technologies etc.

Studied disciplines: Economics for engineers, Vibration and noise in manufacturing processes, Reformulated fuels and biofuels, Shopfloor management, ERP (SAP) systems, Design for manufacturing, Advanced engine design, Technical analysis in mechanical engineering, Advanced manufacturing technologies, Product development process, MEF simulation etc.

Perspectives after the completion of studies: The graduates of this M.A. study programme may develop a career in research and/or management in the field of design and manufacture of propulsion systems
