Furniture Eco-design and Restoration

Graduates of this master's degree programme in the field of Forest Engineering receive 120 ECTS credits upon successful completion of a 2-year course of study. Students gain skills in developing and implementing studies, conceptual tools and projects on various topics, such as the recognition, conservation and restoration of wooden artifacts, the furniture eco-design, or the scientific preservation of antique furniture. The completion of this study programme may provide graduates with good job prospects in areas such as wood engineering, design of furniture or wood finished products, interior design, conservation and restoration of furniture/ heritage assets.

 

Studied disciplines: Wood Civilization, Furniture History, Cultural Heritage Preservation, Traditional Materials and Techniques, Product Eco-design, Furniture Design, Scientific Investigation, Materials Science for Conservation-Restoration, Restoration Techniques, CAD Modelling, etc.

 

Students’ career prospects after completing the course of study: creative-innovative activities in specific areas, such as: (eco-)design of furniture/ human living environment, design of furniture and wood finished products, conservation-restoration of furniture/ cultural assets, research, etc.; the possibility to pursue a doctoral degree in the field of Forest Engineering.
