Welding Engineering of Advanced Materials

Major field of study – Industrial Engineering. The duration of this programme is 2 years (120 ECTS credit points). The purpose of this master’s degree programme is to provide competences for a professional and research career in the field of Welding Engineering of Advanced Materials. This programme has corresponding master’s degree programmes at international level such as the ones from:  University of Vigo (Spain), Radboud University Nijmegenn (The Netherlands), Cranfield University (England), Ohio State University (The United States of America), University of Wollongong (The United States of America), Montana Tech Of The University Of Montana (The United States of America) and PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore (India) - Welding Engineering.

 

Competences acquired: diagnosis regarding the welding of advanced materials; new knowledge regarding the design of welding technologies by melting and pressure and of technologies related to welding; development of the ability to design the welded structures from a technological point of view; welding equipment management and development of scientific research abilities in the field of advanced materials welding.  

 

Main subjects: Welding procedures, Modern welding sources, Computation methods and programs for welding processes and technologies, The construction and design of welded structures, CAD/CAM/CAE technologies in welding engineering, Clean welding technologies, Advanced materials engineering, etc.

 

Prospects after graduation: European/international welding engineer; research engineer as PhD. student; teaching at higher education level; welding inspection expert; counsellor on technical problems.
