Romanian Artificial Intelligence Days

20-21 September 2023, “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre

The fourth edition of the Romanian Artificial Intelligence Days will take place in Brașov, at “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre of Transilvania University, from 20 to 21 September 2023. The aim of the event is to support the research and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Romania by strengthening the local AI community and by networking with specialists from the Diaspora and the Eastern European and international community.

The advances made in recent years render Artificial Intelligence one of the main factors that will influence the evolution of the economy and society in the near future. In Romania, efforts are being made by academia and the private sector (including startups) to innovate and develop AI-based solutions. Furthermore, the government is actively working on the approval and implementation of a national strategy for the development and adoption of AI-based solutions.

Romanian AI Days aims to bring together representatives from these sectors to discover synergies between the different actors, with a view to maximizing the positive impact of this field in Romania. The event is open to the public. The tickets will be available for sale as of 15 August (50 RON for students, 250 RON - the general ticket).

The 2023 edition is organized by local and Diaspora experts, in partnership with RovisLab within Transilvania University of Brașov, and ARIA. The interventions are given by specialists from renowned institutions of Romania and abroad (German Aerospace Center, Bitdefender, TU Delft, Siemens, the University of Michigan). In addition to technical presentations given by specialists, the agenda also includes panel discussions on topics of interest to Romania: education with and for AI, public policies related to AI in Romania and the European Union, as well as a session dedicated to startups. Moreover, students and other researchers may present posters detailing the results of their research projects. The organizers offer scholarships to students in order for the latter to be able to attend the event.

The event enjoys the generous support of several local and international companies developing AI-based solutions. So far, Google, Bitdefender, XPERI and Amazon have confirmed support at the Diamond level, and Siemens at the Silver level.
