Transilvania University of Brașov has marked a remarkable increase in terms of number of entries in the 2023 Shanghai Ranking by fields of study (2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects). Transilvania University is indexed under 3 categories, along with Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Bucharest and Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca. The ranking also includes, with two entries, the University of Bucharest and the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca; and, with one entry, the University of Craiova, “Politehnica” University of Bucharest and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

Transilvania University of Brașov can be found in the ranking under the category of Mathematics - place 401-500, under Life Sciences - Human Biology, place 201-300, as well as under the field of Agricultural Sciences, place 301-400.

The 2023 Shanghai Ranking by fields of study covers 1900 universities from 104 countries. 

The 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is based on a range of academic indicators and data collected to measure the performance level of world universities in the aforementioned academic subjects; they include research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality and achieved international academic awards.
