KineDok in the 9th edition

21 November - 12 December, at 6.00 p.m., Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University

This fall, KineDok powered by One World Romania returns to Brașov for the ninth consecutive year. The international programme for alternative distribution of documentary movies will be hosted by the Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University, every Tuesday evening, between 21 November and 12 December, starting at 6:00 p.m. As every year, we have prepared a selection of documentary movies that do not run in regular cinemas, while also offering the audience the opportunity to attend the lively debates after the screenings, together with our guests, namely filmmakers, protagonists and specialists in a variety of fields.

The launch of the programme takes place on Tuesday, 21 November, starting at 6.00 p.m., with the movie Atonal Glow, the story of a brilliant 10-year-old boy who composes music pieces for the piano. The young musician lives with his grandmother, who helps him develop his talent. The Georgian filmmaker Alexander Koridze’s documentary explores the notion of precocious talent, between childhood games and expectations under the spotlight. The screening will be followed by a recital offered by Giulia Șerban-Bălțățeanu, Teodora Țuțu, Ștefan Rusand and Rareș Șerban, pupils at “Tudor Ciortea” Vocational High School of Music, Brașov, who are studying piano under the guidance of teacher Mihaela Itigan, Doctor of Musical Arts.

Full schedule of the screenings:
21.11. Atonal Glow (Alexander Koridze, Georgia, 2021)

28.11. Bigger than Trauma (Sedrana Pribačić, Croatia, 2022) | Guests: Camelia Clem and Florența Simion (Hera Foundation)

05.12. Pongo Calling (Tomá Kratochvíl, the Czech Republic, 2022) | Guest: Florentina Tituleac, school mistress at the Secondary School no. 5, Săcele – MERITO 2021 teacher

In the city of Brașov, KineDok is organized by Artburg Association, alongside the Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University.
