As regards the master’s education cycle, 3,400 places are available, with 1,365 thereof being state-budgeted, and the others self-financing and part-time.
The University continues, in 2026 as well, its policy of inclusion, by allocating almost 100 places for the Romanians everywhere and over 130 places for the special categories of candidates, such as people with disabilities, graduates of rural high schools, or persons of Roma ethnicity.
As compared to last year, the number of available places in the bachelor’s study programmes has increased by 80; and in the master’s study programmes, by 25.
A remarkable novelty, starting this year, the students to be enrolled in the “Cyber Security” programme (taught in English), at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will be awarded, upon graduation, a dual degree, due to an institutional agreement in this regard with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland.
Worthy of note, the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering offers, starting this year as well, a new master’s study programme taught in English, namely Materials Science, Engineering and Management.
Another noteworthy novelty, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will allocate 19 places for the Ministry of National Defence (MoND). Specifically, the candidates pursuing a military career, while majoring in Automotive Engineering, may apply for these places, as per the relevant faculty’s admission terms. Upon completion of the four academic years, the graduates will conduct their professional activity as MoND officers.
As every year, our University provides the top-performing pupils who choose to pursue further education in the city of Brașov with the same support. The high-school graduates who completed their studies as valedictorians or who achieved the average grade of 10 at the baccalaureate exam will receive from the University a laptop, as well as free dormitory accommodation and a daily canteen meal. At the same time, the candidates from low-income families will avail themselves of support consisting of free accommodation, meals and academic supplies.
The candidates who won prizes at international school Olympiads or the first prize at national Olympiads will be admitted to UNITBV without entrance examination.
The process of admission to Transilvania University of Brașov is based, for most faculties, on the evaluation of the application file. The Faculty of Medicine - for the Medicine study programme, the Faculty of Physical Education and Mountain Sports, the Faculty of Music, and the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences - for the Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education and Special Psychopedagogy programmes organise entrance exams, too.
