Places in the competition

The list of doctoral supervisors by scientific field for the 2026 doctoral admission competition will be available soon. Admission to doctoral studies at Transilvania University of Brașov is done for places funded from the state budget (without paying tuition fees) and places with tuition fees, for the following forms of education:

Scientific Doctorate 

  • full-time with scholarship (budget) - CFB-S;
  • part-time without scholarship (budget) - FRB-S;
  • full-time with tuition fee - CFT-S;
  • part-time with tuition fee - FRT-S.

Professional Doctorate 

  • full-time with scholarship (budget) - CFB-P; 
  • part-time without scholarship (budget) - FRB-P; 
  • full-time with tuition fee - CFT-P; 
  • part-time with tuition fee - FRT-P. 

The number of places put up for the 2026 doctoral admission competition will be announced soon.

Places funded from the budget: 61 (of which: 1 place for Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority and 8 places for programmes that support the priority development areas of Romania, as defined by the National Strategy for Research, Innovation, and Smart Specialization 2022-2027), allocated by category as follows:

  • full-time with scholarship (budget) – CFB: 31 
  • part-time without scholarship (budget) – FRB: 30
