Students of Transilvania University on behalf of Romania at “Expo Dubai 2020” World Exhibition

From October 2021 to March 2022, “World Expo”, the world’s greatest event of its kind, takes place in Dubai. “Expo Dubai 2020” is attended by over 190 countries and organizations from around the world. Each country has its own pavilion, where the country's traditions, culture and values are presented.

The Romanian pavilion is also represented by the students of Transilvania University of Brașov. Along with other Romanian artists, overall, more than 50 students from Brașov have given and will give folk performances and concerts, craft workshops and presentations of Romanian traditions and customs.

Between November and March, students from the University of Brașov will be leaving in organized groups, presenting constantly new workshops and demonstrations. So far, at the Romanian stand within “Expo Dubai 2020”, the students of the Faculty of Music have given concerts from the Romanian and international classical repertoire. The performances were played on piano, violin, viola, flute, guitar, clarinet and panpipes.

The folk ensemble of Transilvania University, made up of Brașov students, also performed on the stage of the Romanian pavilion, presenting suites from traditional Romanian dances. Combined with the artistic moments, the students of Transilvania University also give craft workshops, demonstrations of wood carving and engraving, or of traditional stitching and weaving.

The world exhibition takes place every five years and it lasts 6 months. So far, the Romanian pavilion, arranged and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been visited by more than 200,000 people and hosted over 200 musical moments performed by Romanian artists. The events to be organized during these 6 months at the Romanian pavilion involve the active participation of Transilvania University of Brașov.
