Transilvania University of Brașov, a unique measure to attract foreign students

6 July 2022

All foreign citizens who choose to become students of the Transilvania University of Brașov will benefit from a 50% reduction of the annual tuition fee if they have a parent who has already graduated from a Romanian public university.

The decision is unique in Romania and is part of the internationalization strategy of the Transilvania University of Brașov. The objective considered is to increase the number of international students in Brașov, but also the development of intercultural exchanges and the continuation of the traditional relations that Romania has had and has with various countries in the world.

"This decision was taken by the Board of Directors of Transilvania University of Brașov following discussions with Jordanian representatives of the Association of Graduates of Medical Universities in Romania during the twelfth Romanian-Jordanian Conference on Medicine and Pharmacy and the the tenth International Congress of Graduates of Romanian Medical Universities, which took place in Brașov last week. There are many countries where there are thousands of graduates of Romanian universities, some of them with brilliant careers or holding important positions in their sectors of activity or in the administration of those countries. I believe that such an effort on the part of our university is fully justified by the enormous benefits regarding Romania's collaboration with these countries, for the promotion of the country's interests, but also of the Romanian culture and language. Many of these graduates love Romania, appreciate the Romanian school and want their children to study in our country as well” said Prof. Dr. Eng., Ioan Vasile Abrudan, Rector of Transilvania University of Brasov

The discount will be applied starting with the academic year 2022-2023, both for the students who will enroll in the bachelor's degree programs, and for those who will choose the master's degree at the Transilvania University of Brașov. The discount offered by the university also applies to the courses of the preparatory program for learning the Romanian language.

The tuition fees paid by international students from non-EU countries at Transilvania University of Brașov are between 2,000 and 7,000 euros per year, depending on the chosen faculty.Currently, young people from 76 countries around the world study at Transilvania University in Brașov. Most chose the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the Faculty of Medicine, followed by engineering faculties.
