Student@UNITBV, a free mobile app dedicated exclusively to the students of Transilvania University of Brașov and entirely developed by the university's students, has achieved a remarkable milestone this year, reaching a record number of downloads: 66,400.

Within the virtual app stores, numerous software applications developed by universities in Romania cater to students, yet Student@UNITBV stands out as the only application in the "Education" category to garner such a large user base. From Google Play, the app has been downloaded 42,200 times and is presently utilized by 14,300 students operating on Android systems. Moreover, in the App Store, there have been 24,200 downloads of the app, with 4,700 student users on IOS operating systems. Combined figures indicate that approximately 90% of Brașov students actively engage with the app.

This application was conceived by a UNITBV student and was launched on the App Store and Google Play at the end of 2019. Since then, multiple student teams have continued to work on it, introducing new features and functionalities.

The software was developed to support students by providing them with relevant information for their student life in the most efficient manner possible. Upon downloading the app, UNITBV students can connect with their institutional email account data, accessing their schedules, grades, cafeteria menus, receiving event notifications, community news, or swiftly paying tuition and accommodation fees.

The app's simple and intuitive design, coupled with its functionalities, has propelled its increasing popularity, resulting in a yearly rise in downloads. Starting this academic year, UNITBV students also have access to a digital student ID, replacing the traditional physical ID, exclusively available through this application.
