CinemaUniT
24-29 March 2026, Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University and Astra Cinema
The fifth edition of CinemaUniT, the Romanian film festival organised by Cinemaraton TV in partnership with Transilvania University of Brașov, will take place between 24 and 29 March 2026.
Romanian heritage films, but also recent ones, awarded at international festivals, as well as documentaries, classic movies or productions for children will be screened at Astra cinema, over these six days.
Within the festival, on 26 March, starting at 5:00 p.m., the Multicultural Centre will host a masterclass themed on the relation between film and theatre. This year’s guests are the movie director Nae Caranfil and the president of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN), Laurențiu Damian, along with the movie critics Dana Duma and Manuela Cernat; and the discussion will be moderated by the playwright Mihai Ignat.
Established in 2022, CinemaUniT festival was created as a meeting place with Romanian cinematography both for the students of Transilvania University of Brașov and for the movie-going public. Through the selection of films, but also through the organization of discussions/debates after each screening, the audience has the opportunity to get acquainted with valuable autochthonous productions, both classical and contemporary, and to participate, together with artists, movie directors and critics, in free discussions on these films, from the process of production, to their destiny on the big screens.
The programme of the festival is available on the platform: https://eventbook.ro/festival/cinema-unit, where reservations can be made as well.
