Chamber Recital
24 April 2026, at 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre, Transilvania University of Brașov
The Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov has the great pleasure of inviting you to an exceptional concert which brings to the fore the American violinist Kevin Lawrence, a Fulbright Scholar, alongside our pianist Diana Ichim.
Highly appreciated for the “vibrant intensity” of his performances, Kevin Lawrence has held concerts on some of the most important international stages, such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, or the National Gallery of Art, but also in major European cultural centres, such as London, Frankfurt, Rome, Prague or Amsterdam.
Having acquired his mastery at the prestigious Juilliard School, he is a Professor at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Artistic Director Emeritus of Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival; therefore, he enjoys an extensive international teaching activity as well.
At present, the celebrated artist conducts his music activity in Romania within a residency offered through the renowned Fulbright U.S. Scholar Programme.
Diana Ichim is a distinguished pianist and harpsichordist, doctoral student and withal adjunct professor at Transilvania University of Brașov. Her artistic activity is defined by the exploration of the dialogue between historical instruments and modern piano, in solo and chamber appearances held both in the country and abroad.
The programme features music pieces by Aaron Copland, Maurice Ravel, Wynton Marsalis, Augusta Read Thomas and Paul Schoenfield, thus bringing to light a universe of sound influenced by the spirit of American music and jazz accents.
The event will take place on 24 April 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre of Transilvania University (41A Iuliu Maniu St.).
