Chamber Jazz@ Transilvania University opens the 2023-2024 season by introducing bassist Arthur Kell's quartet. In addition to its members’ constant presence on New York’s jazz scene, the band made 14 performing tours in Europe, at festivals such as Copenhagen Jazz Fest, Madrid JF, “Jazz & More” – Sibiu, or in famous concert halls such as DeWerf – Brugge, A-Trane – Berlin, Pannonica – Nantes, or International Music Co. – Dublin.

Arthur Kell is one of the most original voices in today’s jazz. His compositions, conceived from intense melodies and open structures, focus on the interactions within the band. Arthur’s ability to adapt to any musical context has allowed him to play, over the years, with musicians such as Thomas Chapin, Bobbie Previte, Sam Newsome, Christian Howes, Jonathan Kreisberg, Art Baron or Bill McHenry.

He has recorded tracks with Matt Wilson and Bernard Purdie.

Brad Shepik, Nate Radley and Allan Mednard are in their turn outstanding musicians with numerous active collaborations. Nate Radley (guitar) worked with Chris Cheek, Adam Nussbaum, Chris Speed, Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra and Aruan Ortiz. Brad Shepik (guitar) performed with Paul Motian, Dave Douglas, Joey Baron and Charlie Haden. Allan Mednard (drums) performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks, Lauren Henderson and Ben Allison.
